COAL HANDLING:

Ricky B currently have contracts with the main mining houses, the    operations involve:

• Loading of Coal, using Front End Loaders.
• Stockpiling of Coal by means of Excavators, Dozers, Front End Loaders, Dumper Trucks.

• Clean up and transportation by means of Bobcats, Front End Loaders and Tipper trucks.

SCREENING AND BLENDING OF COAL AND TARMIX:

• On certain sites, Ricky B is required to blend different grades by sizing of various types of coal, which we achieve by means of tracking screening plants, excavators, loaders, we are currently doing in the area of about 1,500,000 tons annually.
• Ricky B also does coal and tar blending to certain rations, which is either loaded back or transported to the stockpile. We are currently handling 600,000 tons annually.

COAL RECLAMATION:

• Reclamation of coal is one of our specialities and we believe ourselves to be one of the pioneers in this field, both on slurry ponds and coal dumps.
• We have in the last 10 years recovered over 10,000,000 tons

COAL TRANSPORTATION

• Coal Transportation forms a large part of our operation to and from various clients in the Highveld region but not limited to.
• We currently transport 3,500,000 tons annually.

ASH HANDLING – COAL TRANSPORTATION

• Ash handling is a very critical part of our operation whereby we control emergency bypass dams.
• This involves agitating fine ash through slurry pumps and removing the course ash for disposal at dumpsites.
• The cleaning of thickener’s is also part of this operation.
• Equipment used: Excavators, Front End Loaders, Dump Trucks, Tipper Trucks, Bobcats, TLB’s and Long Boom Excavators.

In the past two years, we have recently purchased 3 x Amphibious Excavators.

Our 30 ton excavator, being one of the largest in South Africa. We have found it extremely helpful in cleaning and deepening of dams.

We are currently busy with 3 projects, where we have created extra capacity in the dams. As part of the excavators, we have dredging pumps attached, which assists in dredging out all the slurry in the dams.
